Two cars, out of the sun.

Four-corner carport sail on dark steel posts over a striped concrete-and-gravel pad
Watermark Homes project, Central Texas. Two-car sail carport, September 2026.

The challenge

Two cars in full Texas sun.

The parking pad on this Watermark Homes project is a design piece in its own right: concrete strips set in black gravel. It needed covered parking for two cars, and a metal carport kit would have undone the look. In Texas, a car parked in full sun is an oven by noon, so the shade had to do real work too.

The response

One sail, four posts, two cars.

Watermark set four square steel posts in a dark finish. We designed a four-corner sail to fit them, with high and low corners that give the fabric its twist and keep it taut, and tensioned it across the full parking pad. At 339 square feet of charcoal Commercial Heavy 430, it covers both cars, and one installer had it up in a day.

That's the trade model: Watermark Homes builds, we bring the shade.

In detail.
