A cowboy pool is the great Austin backyard move — until July. A stock tank holds a small volume of water in a steel shell, and in full sun that water gets so warm it stops being refreshing at all. The homeowner had the pool; the sun was taking the cool. The landscape company finishing the backyard wanted shade that solved the water temperature and matched the quality of their build — without taking on tensioned fabric, a discipline with its own physics, themselves.
We designed and fabricated a custom triangle sail with the cable run through the hem for a clean, tensioned edge, and installed it on the structure ATX Prestige Landscaping had set. Out of direct sun, the water stays cool enough to do its job — which is the whole point of a cowboy pool. It's a use case we'd point any stock-tank owner to: shade the tank, keep the swim.
That's our trade model in one project: they build the rest, we do the shade.
