A rooftop terrace has the best view on the property and the worst of the sun. This one was built for living outside: new turf, a lounge, a grill, and a spiral stair up from the house. But with nothing between the deck and the Texas sky, afternoons up there were hard to sit through. Yucca Home Services had the turf and posts covered. They wanted shade that matched the quality of their build, without taking on tensioned fabric themselves.
We designed a four-corner sail and tensioned it between the two steel posts Yucca Home Services set at the parapet and two high points on the house. The mix of high and low corners gives the fabric its twist, which is what keeps a sail taut and quiet in the wind, and the charcoal fabric sits clean against the white siding. One installer had it up in a single afternoon. The lounge is in shade, and the terrace is finally usable when the sun is at its worst.
It's how every trade job should go: they build the space, we bring the shade.
