Honey Moon Spirit Lounge runs on atmosphere — a vintage, intimate cocktail bar where the look is the point. The owners wanted more usable outdoor space through brutal Texas afternoons, but anything overhead had to hold up the aesthetic, not fight it. Umbrellas couldn't do either job.
We built two side-by-side retractable Roman shade systems in a black-and-white stripe that reads as part of the bar's design rather than an addition to it. The cables needed a steel support structure, so we fabricated a custom one and blended it into the decor — it's barely noticeable.
Closed, the patio stays comfortable through the heat of the afternoon. Open, guests sit under the night sky. The lounge now uses its expanded patio from open to close, all season long.
