The back terrace is where Lakeview Bible Church actually happens: bible study in the mornings, kids' camps in the summer, socials after service, and the teens' hangout in between. It's also where the Texas sun hit hardest — an existing fixed awning covered part of the space, but the terrace around it baked at exactly the hours it was busiest.
After we shaded the church's front entry and gathering area, they brought us back for the terrace. The answer was an expansive, custom wing-shaped sail that wraps around the existing fixed awning — a genuine fabrication challenge, cut to meet the structure rather than fight it. The church added comfortable seating underneath, and the terrace now works from morning bible study straight through teen nights.
